I recently posted about the photographer.org community and the amazing opportunity they provide people searching for area photographers. This community is going above and beyond by providing academic scholarships to qualified individuals. I am a Reno based wedding and family photographer and I know that there are many students in the Reno, Sparks and Lake Tahoe area that would greatly benefit by receiving one of these academic scholarships. Due the unfair weather, we did not have as many families to photograph as we would have hoped. But the families that came to donate and have their mini portrait session had a wonderful time and every photographer attending had a chance to photograph at least a couple of families. I had the pleasure to photograph two beautiful families. We had a great time and since every family was covered, we had some extra time to have fun! You can see some of the beautiful images we ended up with below.

One of my favorite parts of a photo session is the little unscripted moments that happen between location changes or pose changes. Sometimes, during these moments is when you get some of the most tender moments. This is why I am always ready! Candid moments melt my heart!

All hallows eve was yesterday and to most of us, that means, we got to show off our cool costumes. In my case, I get to show off my kids costumes lol. I haven’t dressed up for a couple of years now and for a couple of years, we didn’t really paid enough attention to our kid’s costumes.   

Not this year! As most of you may know, we are avid Star Wars fans. We do our best to incorporate our passion into our daily lives, I even named my wedding photography packages after planets in the Star Wars Universe. With this said, Halloween costumes with Star Wars themes are a must. 

My youngest daughter loves princesses and unicorns as much as she enjoys sci-fi. About six months ago, Her and my wife came up with the idea of a pink storm trooper. This idea evolved into a princess Darth Vader costume. Me, being the amazing dad that I am, decided to fulfill my daughter’s wishes came up with the costume. I have to give my wife credit on making the tutu and adding the crown to the helmet. It wasn’t until she tried it on that she said it looked like a cancer awareness Darth Vader which worked perfectly since October is breast cancer awareness month.

Summer is gone! Welcome fall! We have known for a while that fall was near. We knew when we heard the first add for pumpkin lattes on the radio. Here in Reno, the cool breeze caressing our faces and the morning chill that forces us to add an extra layer of clothing confirms it.

It is time to book your fall portraits. The leaves on the trees will soon start changing their normal greens to those magical reds and oranges that make portraits look so amazing! So, get the family, or the dog or your best friend and get your fall pictures taken! Up to forty five minutes session starts at $149. We have a limited amount of sessions this year. It was early morning in Reno, NV when little Amelia arrived for her one year old cake smash session. It was so much fun. We had a custom backdrop ordered for this little one's portrait session. Amelia was a little hesitant at first but once she got the hang of it, she did great!
